Frequently asked questions

Navigating the world of notarizations and apostilles can sometimes be confusing. We've compiled a list of the most common questions our clients ask to help you understand our services, policies, and what to expect when you choose AFC Premiere Notary & Apostille Services.

What are the most common questions your customers ask you about notary services, especially regarding apostilles?

Our clients often ask: 'What is an apostille?' and 'How long does the apostille process take?' An apostille is a certificate that authenticates the seal and signature of a public official on a document so that it can be recognized in foreign countries that are members of the Hague Apostille Convention. The processing time can vary depending on the document type and the issuing authority, but we strive for efficient and timely service, guiding you through each step.

How do customers book an appointment with you (including mobile or urgent requests), and what should they know about deposits or extra fees?

Booking an appointment is simple! You can schedule directly through our convenient calendar app via this link: [[calendar_app_link]]. For mobile, after-hours, or same-day appointments, additional fees will apply. A $30 non-refundable deposit is required for all appointments, which will be applied to your final payment. You may reschedule at least 2 hours prior to your appointment time, but cancellations or no-shows will forfeit the deposit.

What specific documents or identification do customers need to bring when they come for a notarization or apostille?

For any notarization or apostille service, all parties involved in the document signing must be present and provide a valid, government-issued picture ID (e.g., driver's license, state ID, passport). Additionally, please bring all original documents that require notarization or are to be sent for apostille processing.

What's the most confusing part for people when they need a notary or apostille, and how do you help them understand or prepare?

A common point of confusion is understanding the notary's role. It's crucial to remember that as a Notary Public, I am not an attorney and cannot provide legal advice, explain document contents, or assist in filling out forms. To ensure a smooth process, please ensure all forms are completely filled out (but not signed) prior to your appointment. Our role is solely to verify identities and witness signatures.
